Positive Focus workshops are here for anyone who has, or still is, serving in the emergency services or military and living with mental health issues as a result of their service experiences.
For the sake of clarity and to avoid any misunderstandings this is what I mean by emergency services, military and mental health issues:
So long as you meet these eligibility criteria the workshops are FREE for you to attend and enjoy. You will learn how to operate a camera rather than leave it on auto, click and hope for the best. You will learn the basic skills of photography and build these to produce stunning portraits, landscapes, wildlife and many more genres.
You will also learn some of the basics of post shot processing and how to tweak your images to make them stand out. Once you have an image that you really like, I'll show you how to frame and in my picture framing workshop you will be able to frame your print ready for hanging at home.
There is also an opportunity for attendees to choose their favourite shots taken over a series of workshops and display them in a public exhibition at the end of the year to show off their skills and artistry.
Workshops are not therapy but they are a great distraction from every day thoughts and can help you to focus on creativity to help you develop new skills, confidence and boost your own self esteem.
